A total of 15 samples of blood and faeces of buffaloes were collected and of these 07 (46.67%) were positive for eggs of F. hepatica and 04 (26.67%) animals had Strongyloidea eggs, and the OPG ranged from zero to 50. The average hematocrit of the animals was 42% and only one animal showed a hematocrit below normal. The record of the occurrence of F. hepatica on the property suggests that there is analysis of faecal samples from buffalo and other species in nearby sites because there is possibility of water contamination, introduction of infected animals and the presence of the intermediate host. Moreover, because it is a zoonosis, more studies must be conducted in the region to control the disease.
