E- mail: redoria@usp.br A squamous cell carcinoma with metastasis in the face of a horse was reported. It was treated, after surgical debulking, with systemic chemotherapy using piroxicam, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and later with doxorubicin both associated with topical chemotherapy with 5-fluorouracil ointment. Although the chemotherapy had controlled the tumor growth velocity it was not enough to promote the wound healing and so metastasis appeared and the euthanasia was an option.
