On days when it was possible to monitor the slaughter, with of analysis of carcasses and offal, they were inspected macroscopically, aiming at the meeting of cystic forms of cestodes. The distribution in the two species of mammals was evaluated, leading in consideration the sex, the band of age, the alive weight, and the origin. 130 small ruminants had been investigated, being 88 sheep and 42 goat ones, and in these the infection for Cysticercus tenuicollis was diagnosed, with prevalence of 35.2% in sheep and 26.2% in goat. The predominant localization of C. tenuicollis were the omento, followed by the abomasal serosa; it didn`t have significant difference between the sexes in the number of cysticercus, oras the prevalence; the age group with the largest number of animals observed was the adult over the age of three years, while the frequency of parasitism was high among young animals, aged between one and three years. The investigated animals were infected independent of the origin, being that 55% of the same ones were breaded in the central hinterland of the Ceará State, with dominance of the animals proceeding from the cities of Quixadá, Choró, Banabuiú, Quixeramobim, Ibicuitinga, Morada Nova, Jaguaretama, Itapiúna e Ibaretama.
