Thus, this study aimed to detect the prevalence of EIA in equids in the mid-northern region of Mato Grosso State, Brazil during the moths of January, 2006 to November, 2011. It was evaluated 17,263 EIA tests of a official laboratory from Colíder (MT). According to the results, from de total of examined animals, 196 were asinine, 10,175 equines and 6,891 mules. The annual prevalence of EIA in the refereed region during the years of 2006 to 2011 was 3.76%; 4.26%; 2.89%; 3.11%; 2.89% e 2.40%, respectively. The obtained result showed lower prevalences compared to others regions in Brazil, demonstrating the necessity to maintaining public politics of Animal Sanity to keep the prevalence in low levels.
